poll&roll’s MCP server lets you connect your AI assistant (such as Claude) directly to your survey data. Once connected, you query your results in natural language from your own assistant, without opening the platform. Its capabilities are the same as those of the AI assistant built into poll&roll: searching your surveys, survey outline, question results, crosstabs, comparing several questions with one another (including across different surveys), importance-performance matrices, restricting to a subpopulation, creating subtotals, viewing, building, editing and deleting your PowerPoint reports, then analyzing and interpreting the figures.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants connect to external data sources. The poll&roll server exposes your surveys through this protocol.

Prerequisites

  • A poll&roll account with access to the survey you want to query.
  • An MCP-compatible client (for example Claude, as a desktop app or on the web).
As in the platform, what the server can consult depends on your access level for the survey.

The server address

You will need this address to configure your client:

Configuration in Claude

Claude connects to the server through its Connectors. The procedure is the same in the desktop app and on the web.
1

Open the connectors

In Claude, open Settings, then the Connectors section.
2

Add a custom connector

Click Add custom connector and paste the server address: https://mcp.pollandroll.com.
3

Connect to poll&roll

Confirm: Claude opens a sign-in window. Sign in with your poll&roll account to authorize access to your surveys.
4

Check the connection

The poll&roll connector now shows as active. You can start asking your questions in a conversation.

Configuration in another client

The poll&roll server works with any MCP-compatible client. The approach is always the same: add the remote server https://mcp.pollandroll.com to your client’s configuration, then sign in with your poll&roll account when prompted. Refer to your client’s documentation for the exact location of this setting.

Usage

Once the server is connected, you query your surveys exactly as you do with the built-in AI assistant. To find out what to ask (retrieving figures, crosstabbing questions, comparing profiles, drawing out findings) and to see question examples, see the AI assistant page:

Querying your results with AI

What the assistant can do and examples of questions to ask — valid both in the platform and through the MCP server.
Ask one question at a time and name the questions or the items as they appear in the survey: the assistant finds the right data more easily.
AI can make mistakes. Remember to check important information, cross-checking it if needed against the question’s table in the results.
