It is the organization that determines what each person can see and do on the platform: which surveys they can access, whether they can create surveys, and everyone’s rights.

What is an organization?

An organization is the entity that owns the surveys. It brings together:
  • the users who have access to it;
  • the surveys it owns;
  • shared items such as color schemes and report templates.
All members of an organization have access to all of its surveys, color schemes and templates.

Structuring an organization: parent and child

An organization can be structured as a parent organization and child organizations (one per department, for instance), to keep surveys separate: each child organization only has access to its own surveys.
Every organization — parent as well as child — must have its own contract (and therefore its own credits) to be able to create surveys.

Contract and credits

Only an organization with a current contract can create surveys. It is that contract that opens up the credits needed.
If your organization does not have (or no longer has) an active contract, the create button stays unavailable. You can still view the surveys shared with you. Get in touch with your Discurv contact to activate or update the contract.

Grant access to the organization

To give a colleague access to the organization, add their e-mail address. They then get access to the organization and, by default, to all of its surveys, color schemes and templates. Someone whose account does not exist yet appears with a triangle icon: adding their address automatically sends them an e-mail invitation to create their account.

Share a single survey

You can also grant access to a single survey — typically to a client — without opening up the whole organization. This is done in the Collaboration tab of the survey summary.
1

Open the Collaboration tab

In the survey summary, open the Collaboration tab.
2

Add the e-mail address

Enter the e-mail address of the person to invite.
3

Set the rights

Set the two access axes (see below).
The person receives an e-mail invitation and can access only that survey, not the organization’s other surveys.

The access levels

Rights on a survey are set along two independent axes: With read-only on the results, the person can view, filter and export, but cannot change your subtotals or your crosstabs. With full access, they have all the modification and editing rights. A custom subdomain lets your team and your respondents reach poll&roll from a URL that carries your brand (https://your-name.pollandroll.com), rather than the default URL — with your own logo displayed instead of poll&roll’s (navigation bar, invitations, etc.).
This feature is not available in self-service. Get in touch with your Discurv contact to set it up. Once configured, the subdomain and logo appear read-only in the organization’s Customization tab.
